[It was a long and hard battle, yet slowly but surely the Chaotic menace was beaten back.

What was left by the time "late at night" gets blurry with "early in the morning" were only a few dozen individuals, now huddled together downtown, near the large trees that'd given the city its name. They were faced off against several fighters, two opposing forces that weren't, at the moment, actually combatting.

They were both waiting to see who would make the first move.]

[Dominic gave a relieved sigh as he brushed his fingers through his hair trying to straighten up. Adjust his tie and vest a bit.]

I've been better.

But I ought not to complain, I've been inside all day after all. Just the tending and helping to those who need shelter.

Shall I get you two any drinks or something to eat?

[Once Arthur was silenced from any protests. He gave a sigh as Dominic rushed off.]

Guess we're stuck to rest here for a bit.

You know... It's a good thing that Halloween party is coming up at my house, everyone is gonna need it at this.

[She was decidedly not fine, if the way she was still leaned against Blake was anything to go by. She frowned, bringing a hand up to the side of her head again as the throbbing intensified and sucking in a breath.]

...If you don't follow him now, you'll lose him.

[If she'd been thinking more clearly, she might have reconsidered encouraging her sister and Daniel into pursuing a foe they knew so little about but it was hard to think at all with this incessant headache.]

[He glances around at the city - seeing the general panic background, plus the property damage (some of which he was responsible for), and the people huddled indoors to escape from the ravening horde. Yeah. That'd be a pretty successful test for a terror army.]

You do realize that, having seen you do this once, we will be prepared for it to happen again. Enough infrastructure has been damaged to require extensive rebuilding, and with that, defenses will almost certainly be installed. You won't be able to do this again.

[He takes a step or two forward, toward the deranged little rabbit thing.]

And you can bet your fluffy ass that those of us who fought today will be better prepared, too. Don't leave here thinking you've won anything. Just leave.
