A Calm Evening
WHO: Ran and Atawhai
WHERE: an outdoor cafe near Ran's apartment
WHEN: mid-afternoon

Ran had taken some time to scout the area near his father's penthouse, to make sure that he picked out a good spot for this particular date with Atawhai. More often than not, they went on double dates with Etera and Daniel, so he wanted this rare occasion to be special.
Even though it was becoming quite brisk out, but Ran picked out an outdoor cafe, one that was on a quieter street and not often so busy. The outdoor patio adjoined a large garden, shrubs and bushes and hedges making up most of the greenery now that the trees had lost their leaves and it was too cold for blooms. The young wolf demon had thought this would make for a much more peaceful outing than many of their others had been.
He and Atawhai were seated not far from the gardens, and as usual Atawhai's antics were bringing a smile to Ran's face, brightening up his usually melancholy life. After just over a year, Ran had found himself so much more comfortable around his boyfriend that he found his normal reservations often would be gone entirely around the caracal. No one else had ever made him feel so comfortable - not since his parents had been killed, anyway.
