And you know you're never sure
WHO: Xi and anyone who wants to run into her? Iunno.
WHERE: Around town
WHEN: Fall? The consensus seems to be that it is Fall.
OPEN/CLOSED: Open as a 24-hour CVS, baby
PROSE OR BRACKETS: I'm doing brackets, you do whatever you wanna. It's a free country. Quotation marks are cool
WARNINGS: Discussion of Xi's past may include mentions of: Death! Torture! Abuse! Evil racist scientists! Cats!
[There's another teenage runaway in the alleyways of Birchpointe. She's particularly small, even for her age, but you can't tell under all the clothes - a ratty grey baseball cap pulled tight over short white hair (no ears to either side of it, so they must be tucked into it... right?), brim shading strangely reflective silver eyes, enormous stained green hoodie concealing her hands, some hideous faded floral print skirt from the free box at a thrift store somewhere, and baggy black sweatpants tucked into boots that are clearly a size too big. Despite that, if you catch her running she's really fast and surprisingly sure of step. And she doesn't generally walk.
Maybe you find her in a back alley, splitting cans of tuna with stray cats. Or maybe you just see her running somewhere and find she looks interesting! Or, if you look particularly interesting (and even if you think you don't, Xi can find something interesting about you), maybe she'll just end up following you as you go through your day. She does that sometimes.
Go on, talk to her if you wanna. It'll probably be a nice quick conversation that you'll be able to walk away from no problem.]

[Arthur's expression softened as he looked at her.]
... There's a guy I heard that helps with people's memories.
Have you heard of him?

[She looks down]
I... have not been out of the lab for very long. I don't know much at all about this city.
no subject
Well he's kinda underground with helping others like I am.
His name is Nostalgia Critic, he helps others regain their memories back.
You should pay him a visit sometime, it might help your situation.

[She's used to things hurting.]

We'll see if he's in the phone book later.
[As he started to eat his meal with a fork.]

[Xi, for her part, tries to imitate him using a fork! But it goes. Not so great. Because she is holding the fork through her sleeve. And has never used a fork before. But in a rare moment of emotion she VERY DETERMINEDLY gets a bite in.]

Guess you liked those.

Mm-hm. They're really good.
[Not as good as Doctor R's, but whose are, really?]
no subject
I'm glad you liked the meal.
[Glancing as he started to now wonder if she actually has a place to stay.]
... Do you need a room to stay somewhere by chance?
